PETAR JANJUSIC - FROM STELLA AZZURRA TO A PLAYER IN UCAM MURCIA

- My time at Stella Azzurra

"I am incredibly happy that all my hard work and sweat during 2 years at Stellazzurra have resulted in this great opportunity in my life. I am thanking Stella Azzurra and all the professional staff who made all this possible to become true and I am incredibly grateful that I got the chance to be the first Swedish player at Stella Azzurra Basketball Academy. During my time at Stella I have not only become a better player but also grown up as a better person.  It has not always been easy to sacrifice many things in life to reach the goal of becoming a better and more mature player both physically and mentally.

At Stella everything is 100% serious. This is the place you learn how to become a winner. A lot of good players worldwide, mostly from Europe and Africa, are here. Within a quick time you learn how to cope with the tough and hard competition. If you don’t do your utmost and always give 100% on the court either if it is a training, friendly match or tournament you can’t expect getting the results that you have been hoping for. But the part I liked the best is that I was allowed to make mistakes, because only by doing mistakes you can develop.

I am very proud to say that I was a part of the team Stellazzurra who became Italian Champion U16, in season 2016/2017. Despite the fact that I was unfortunate and had to wait for the licence 5 months and that I later had got a hand fracture, with two fingers broken, I came over all the obstacles and continued to work hard. My highlights during this period at Stella is winning the Italian Championship and during 2017/2018 I got the great chance to play for Fortitudo Roma in Serie C Silver as a 16 year old.

- Time in Spain

I didn’t doubt for a moment when Spanish ACB team UCAM Murcia called me on one week tryout via FIBA agent Braulio Arias Hernandez. During the tryout week I have practiced with Junior A and Murcia EBA team and they accepted me. I am already in Spain now and living with other Murcia players in residence. The only thing I have to do now is to keep working hard with my new team and progress as a player.
